Overview

CinePrompt and News Studio represent a state-of-the-art programmatic video generation suite tailored for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and news broadcast channels. The platform allows creators to start with a story blueprint, auto-generate Sinhala narration using Gemini AI, synchronize typography and audio waveforms, and render 60fps vertical and horizontal broadcast videos entirely in the cloud or local Docker containers.

Why Remotion instead of Adobe After Effects / Python MoviePy?
Traditional video editors require manual human intervention, while MoviePy lacks modern typography and layout primitives. Remotion enables composing videos using standard React components, CSS flexbox, and SVG animations, guaranteeing 60fps frame-exact programmatic rendering.

Sinhala Unicode Typography Engine
Standard video renderers frequently break complex Sinhala ligatures (kombuwa, ispilla). Implemented custom CSS font-face rendering pipelines and canvas text shaping to guarantee flawless Sinhala text rendering on vertical shorts.

Automated Audio Waveform Ducking
Built an audio analysis module in Web Audio API that dynamically ducks background music volume whenever Gemini AI voiceover narration is active.

Architecture

Remotion Video Rendering Pipeline

React components are mapped directly to video canvas frames, rendering complex motion graphics, text animations, and transitions with frame-level accuracy.

Gemini Content Engine

Automates scriptwriting, psychology quote generation, quiz card authoring, and phonetic Sinhala speech synthesis.

Multi-Track Audio Engine

Audio waveform visualization, automatic background music ducking, and sound effects (SFX) triggering.

Template Registry

Modular design templates for breaking news, literary quotes, viral quiz shorts, and educational lessons.

DevOps & deployment

Containerized with Docker Compose; easily deployed to AWS Lambda via Remotion Lambda for distributed parallel rendering of 60-second shorts in under 15 seconds.
